Gerard recently moved towns and got a new job as a teacher at a local high school. After work, he visits a coffee shop where he meets a handsome waiter - Frank. It was the love at first sight but everything went downhill when they realized a few important details.

Frank Iero is a mess-plain and simple. He isn't living, just surviving, and even though no seventeen-year-old should feel this way, he can't seem to snap out of it. Frank knows his life is going nowhere, so he wastes his nights away at the local bar, drowning his problems in a drink and hooking up with anyone who looks at him twice. He doesn't care if he is being a slut-Frank just loves sex. He actually feels wanted, even if it's only for an hour or two. December 2nd 1939 and 17 year old Gerard Way is trying to hold back his tears as his mother bundles him onto the train at their local station equipped with his small bag of belongings, gas mask and a couple of sandwiches on the way. The majority of his friends had either already been sent off to war or been evacuated to the country side a couple of months ago. Every child on the train was sad. Mikey Way gets bullied by Frank Iero and his friends, being the butt of all their jokes. Gerard Way is the school's Norman Bates. He's freaky, he acts like he's constantly anticipating something, and he does taxidermy. People fear him, and quite honestly, he gets off on it. There are so many bad rumors circulating about him that even he isn't sure which ones are true. Meanwhile, Frank Iero has a reputation for himself. He's an idiot. A comedic one, especially with his friend James, but an idiot. He once came to school high off his ass and passed his math exam with flying colors. It was a dumb move, but an entertaining one.
