When Ren first joined Hermitcraft, he carried a constant, quiet tension in his shoulders-like he was bracing for something no one else could see. He had signed on as human. That was the agreement, the expectation, the role he was supposed to play. And Ren tried-he really did. Most days, he stayed carefully within that shape, that skin, forcing his posture to relax, forcing his instincts to stay buried deep where no one would notice them scratching to get out. He watched the others closely, mimicking little things: how they laughed, how they stood, how they interacted so effortlessly. It felt unnatural to him, like wearing a mask that didn't quite fit, but he was determined to make it work. Because if they knew... if they really knew... he wasn't sure things would stay the same. Even simple things became a challenge. The urge to pace when he was anxious. The way his focus would snap sharply to sudden sounds. The instinct to bare his teeth when startled, even if he caught himself before it showed. Every reaction had to be filtered, controlled, softened into something more human, more acceptable. It was exhausting-but Ren never let that show either. Most of the time, he managed. But the nights were harder. Especially when the moon was full. On those nights, Ren didn't leave his house.

Cub was told from the very first day: never reveal himself. Hide the wings. Hide the horns. Hide the sharpness of his smile and the power humming just beneath his skin. Be smaller. Be quieter. Be less. So he learned. He learned how to file his horns down until they ached, until the dull nubs left behind could pass for harmless deformities rather than proof of what he truly was. He learned how to grind his teeth flat, ignoring the sting and the copper taste in his mouth, because predators were feared-and fear invited questions. He learned how to fold his wings tight against his back, binding them beneath a lab coat that hung heavy and stiff, its fabric hiding the faint shimmer of vex light that refused to be fully smothered. Most days, the coat was enough. Most days, no one noticed the way he stood too still, or how his eyes caught the light just a little wrong. No one questioned why he flinched at mirrors, or why he never laughed with his mouth open. They saw a scientist. A helper. Someone safe. And that was the point. Because Cub knew-had always known-that the moment the truth was seen, the moment the wings unfurled or the horns grew back sharp and proud, the world would stop calling him Cub and start calling him something else entirely.

Despite both being allied and both being as strong as they are, the rulers are still paranoid of possible threats from those hungry for their skills. So to secure their safety, the three kings agree to unite under one crown. And to do so, they place the heirs of the respecting kingdoms into an arranged marriage. But because they were both so young at the time of the arrangement, it gave them enough time to work out any details, such as where they would live, how they'd combine the lands, and more. But the one detail they seemed to have skipped over was allowing the two to spend time together. Welcome to yet another Bdoc AU book! This one will be much more of a slow-burn than my hero au :)

Hermitopia was a beautiful and usually completely boring town, well, apart from the powers that most people in the town held. This all changes at night, when beloved town hero Hotguy comes out to help protect the town. A random and very persistent crime spike has kept Hotguy out on patrol every night, as of late, but will this affect his civilian alter ego Scar? With the new arrival of a certain blonde with grey eyes, Scar has to deal with the delicate balance between hero and civilian more than ever. Hermitcraft +friends superhero au! mainly switches to other characters' perspectives for quick moments throughout chapters and moments while mainly following one per chapter. Story takes place in no season specifically, I just really liked the art I found (wattpad cover art), which happened to be from season 8, with certain elements and call-backs to different seasons throughout.
