Sometimes it felt like a nightmare he'd soon wake up from, other times it felt all too real. Kit's status as a nobody in a sea of nobodies meant little, he was just another meat shield for the enemy to gun down. As the war goes on, one thing has become abundantly clear to Kit: His time was running out.

In 2003, the United States of America alongside allied forces such as the Polish, British, and Australians partook in operation Iraqi Freedom. Within a relative month, the US and it's allies had toppled the Ba'athist government of Iraq. Yet, with the war a decisive coalition victory, only thirteen years later, the United States alongside a new group of allies, being the French Republic, United Kingdom, Federal Republic of Germany, and the Combined Isle Nation would once more find themselves fighting in the familiar sands of Iraq. Medieval soldiers pour out of the dome, along with fantasy minotaurs and centaurs; they start attacking everyone they can find. The United States quickly overpowers the invaders only to discover a portal that leads to another world filled with fantasy creatures and magic.

The beginning of the Battle For Earth signaled the start of the final, bloodiest campaign of the Human-Covenant War. Hastily, a plan is put into motion and an Ark Fleet, composed of a dozen Phoenix-class vessels and their escorts, makes the jump out of system.
