Now he's on the run from an from an oppressive vampire covenant thirsty for his blood that found him at his previous location. It's not fun being chased by vampires, but to run into a werewolf pack? Depuis la découverte des Particuliers, des personnes ayant des dons spéciaux, le monde à sombré. Aveuglés par la peur, les humains n'ont pas accepté cette existence inconnue... Certains Particuliers ont essayé de s'intégrer créant des révoltes chez les hommes. Plusieurs années plus tard une guerre à éclaté, détruisant tout sur son passage. Maintenant, la population humaine vit à l'écart. Pour empêcher toute rechute, le gouvernement à créé une armée appelée le Cort composée de personnes entrainées depuis la naissance. Elle a pour objectif principal de garder les Particuliers sous contrôle. Adelia vient d'avoir dix-sept ans. Elle entre dans cette armée après avoir été préparée toute sa vie. Mais ce qu'elle découvre n'est finalement pas ce qui était prévu depuis toujours, la laissant face à un monde beaucoup plus inconnu qu'elle ne le pensait.
