I could feel the blood pumping through my neck, up to my ears and towards my cheeks. My hand began to shake, so I slid it behind my back. Should I run? Should I say something or should I sign it? Should I act like I don't speak English? What did he say? He cleared his throat, distracting me from thinking of more rational alternatives.
