"Never thought I'd be saying these words to anyone but my priest," Michael whispered, his tone cold enough to freeze over the lake that sat behind the ramshackle house in mere moments. "but here goes nothing." he continued. "I-....I need to confess something....father..." he stated as he stood before the root of all his problems. The fully grown man before him, the bushy beard and all, the alcohol staining his shirt, the reek of sweat and gasoline surrounded the older male in a cloud. He seemed perplexed. In his deep-toned voice, slurred slightly seeing as he was...drunk, to put it bluntly. "I know what you did." Michael glared. "I know exactly what you did to mom and me..." The older man froze. Then his brow furrowed in a fit of rage. He growled out, rambling closet to Michael's stocky build. Grabbing him by the tie and pulling the boy in close. Eyes a raging dumpster fire. Michael's heart stopped momentarily, he could barely breathe. Each inhales shook and the exhales were short. The next five words that were spoken. More than he'd heard from his Dad in years. Months. Weeks. These five words chilled him to the bone. "Who the fuck told you."
