500 years ago, a meteor struck the earth, cracking it in half, separating families and bringing devastation. Many people have tried to jump the rapidly growing gap in pure desperation to reach the other side, but all attempts have failed. Now, in the Present Future era, a 16-year-old boy named Clarence Pertrand, who used to live a normal life on one half of the planet, meets a 15-year-old girl who lives on the other half, who goes by the name of Lola Hanceworth. Divided by the hopeless gaping hole between them, they struggle to find a way to stay together. Will they be able to defy the ever growing space between them? Or will they have to part ways and never see each other again?

13-year-old Sophie Winfield hates music as much as she hates eating oysters. But when she finds herself looking at a portal, she experiences a paradise that she's never seen before. Later on, as time passes by, she starts to become homesick. However, she can't find the portal she entered through. She has to pass three nearly-impossible tests in order to go back home. And all of those tests are related to music. The first test is all about finding 12 precious jewels from 12 different regions. Each one represents a month; a birthstone. But with those jewels come the potential exaggerated dangers of that month. From frostbitten cold to desert hot, swarms of mosquitoes to tornadoes of leaves, Sophie has to learn to accept her talent and use it to her utmost advantage in order to succeed the first test in her Musical Fantasy.
