Over the past nine years she's racked up a total of 27 kills alone, and is considered by her squad to be the best fighter to have ever walked outside of the walls. After a Survey Corps mission goes terribly wrong, Chief Military Officer Darius Zackly orders the Phoenix Squadron to work with the Survey Corps until they've recovered. The normally calm and collected captain must learn how to control her anger towards a particularly irritating Corporal if she's ever going to survive. These feelings of annoyance won't last forever though, and soon turn into something even harder to control. Lux will have to make it through the hellfire of war, but can she do it alone?

It took a single day for her to disappear, for her to leave an empty space in their apartment and in his heart. Her smell still lingered over the towels of the bathroom, the covers of their bed she had neatly folded, that last morning, still laid untouched on her side, and the flowers she had put in a vase on the dining table were slowly withering away. He had never seen it coming, that she would be gone so fast. He never expected that she could vanish from his life the way she had appeared, so suddenly and unexpectedly.
