Saria Baggins is half human, half dwarf and has spent as much of her life as she can remember living in the Shire. One day, a strange wizard arrives at Bag-end, and offers Bilbo a chance to join him on an adventure. Much to Saria's dismay he declines. He returns later with a company of dwarves on a quest to reclaim a lost homeland. They asked Bilbo to join them, and help them, but he refuses. So Saria volunteers to go in his place. Though many of the dwarves are skeptical, it becomes obvious very quickly that she is more than capable of taking care of herself. As the quest continues, Saria proves herself a true asset several times over, she also grows very close to a certain blond Dwarf prince, but unfortunately they simply do not have the option of a fairy-tale love story. The road they walk is a perilous one, they balance on the edge of a knife. One wrong move will mean death for the entire company. When they find themselves back in Erebor, his uncle's dragon sickness will force them to make impossible choices; and there is a war brewing. Will they be able to bring everyone together and save their people? Or will it cost them everything? Including each other?

Freya Brandybuck is Bilbo Baggins little cousin and is also his closest friend. She has a big interest in the maps of Middle Earth and hopes to visit some of those places.
