ഞാൻ അമ്മീയുടെ മുഖത്തേക്ക് നോക്കി, അമ്മിയുടെ കണ്ണുകളിൽ സന്തോഷം കാണാൻ എനിക്ക് സാധിച്ചില്ല... "ഞാൻ.... ഞാൻ എടുത്ത തീരുമാനം തെറ്റാണോ???" ഞാൻ എന്നോട് തന്നെ സ്വയം ചോദിച്ചു. ആ മുഖം മനസ്സിലേക്ക് വന്നപ്പോൾ തീരുമാനം തെറ്റായി തോന്നിയില്ല... എന്നാലും... "ഇന്നെന്റെ നിക്കാഹ്.... ഇത്ര പെട്ടന്ന്.... ഞാൻ എന്റെ അനിയത്തിക്കുട്ടിയെ നോക്കി. എന്റെ നിക്കാഹിനെ കുറിച്ച് എന്നേക്കാൾ സങ്കൽപ്പങ്ങൾ അവൾക്കായിരുന്നു. ഇന്നു പക്ഷെ അവളുടെ മുഖത്ത് ആ ആവേശമോ സന്തോഷമോ ഒന്നും തന്നെയില്ല. "എന്റെ തീരുമാനം തെറ്റായിപ്പോയോ....???" ഞാൻ വല്ലാത്തൊരു അവസ്ഥയിൽ ആയിരുന്നു.
