I Am a Cat or "Wagahai was Neko de Aru", a novel written in 1905 - 1906 by Natsume Soseki the pen name of Kin'nosuke Natsume. Its about Japanese society and the uneasy mix of Western culture and Japanese traditions during the Meiji period. Translated by Yasotaro Mori, unfortunately only two chapters are translated into English out of the total eleven chapters, of the three volume book.
