Eighteen year old Gene Belcher comes home from a college party, his eyes as red as blood and his face as pale as a sheet. Bruises and cuts cover his body; his hair and clothes are unkempt. He doesn't respond when talked to and the only sound he has made upon returning is an uncharacteristic whimper. No matter what, the Belcher family just can't seem to get through to him. Scrambling for answers, his family tries to piece together what might've caused him so much distress. The only option that seems to make sense is horrifying. It couldn't be. This didn't happen.
