When a girl finds herself accidentally transported into the world of her favorite romance novel, she is pleased to find out that she's become the story's only sensible character: the unnamed coffee shop girl. Now with a front row seat to the romance, Megan finds that she just can't watch a dark and brooding hero awkwardly stalk his way into the female lead's heart. So she sets out on a mission: to reform him into a well rounded character capable of healthy relationships. But in the end, she may have gotten more than she bargained for.

Rachel, a junior assistant in the cargo bay, wasn't prepared for the spaceship's AI to gain awareness during what should have been a routine update, nor had anyone expected it to take exception to the crew and the crates of illegal cargo aboard. Rachel races against time to try and get life-saving systems back online while stranded in the middle of deep space. Unfortunately for her, the AI can access every system, door, and airlock. As truths emerge, the AI realizes that even computers can make miscalculations, and it focuses on the young woman who had dared to confront it. Rachel is left floundering when the AI decides that she would make an excellent captain, albeit one in need of training. As she struggles to learn her new duties and dodge shady government groups, she must ultimately discover what it truly means to be a Starship Captain. ------- There is no romance in this story. The aliens kill every human they catch, or in rare cases, put trackers on them to discover their hidden villages. When Natalie is caught in an ambush, she is unexpectedly released. But there is no tracker. The Saursunes have an entirely different motive this time. *** Run. Don't look back. When Natalie is trapped in an alien ambush, she is unexpectedly released. The first human to ever be let go. The Saursunes invaded centuries ago, and everyone knows that getting caught is certain death. Natalie is confused but grateful to be alive. As a porter, one of the few humans with the rare ability to teleport between special crystal formations, she must leave the safety of her desert village every day to help gather food. When other villages increase their raids on the Saursunes' farms, the aliens retaliate by hunting down every human they can find - except Natalie's group. Instead of trying to kill her and those helping her, they bring them food instead. Is it a trap? Or something else? Natalie isn't sure, but one thing is certain: the Saursunes aren't done with her yet.

Waking up in a mysterious room, in a forest I didn't recognize, after I was sure I was dead, was deeply disturbing. But it was when the first monster attacked me, that was when I realized... I was well and truly fucked. - The skills I'd had during my life were translated here as literal Skills, which were apparently the system of 'Magic' in this place, or something close to that. They could be learned, and they could be given, making this world even more different than I'd expected. But one big thing hadn't changed at all: In this Place, Rich people had the best stuff, which included skills, and they weren't shy about taking what they wanted from others.

Given the choice of Nine Marks, each with their own Alignment, and with real-time consequences due to Alignment, most would choose from the Good, Neutral, or Lawful choices; sheer self-preservation, after all, is important to most people. Tabitha, however, has always rather fancied the idea of being a Witch, and when given the choice, it doesn't even cross her mind to choose something different. Enter Consequences, clad in a Suit of Armor and a perpetual Grimace, sent to decide Tabitha's Fate, depending on an in-depth assessment of her personality. Of course, it doesn't really help her case for being a good person when she's actively trying to take over the world the whole time... so she's got her work cut out for her.
