As Seti becomes more and more involved in the machinations of shadowy figures, he realises he has his own personal mission to fulfil, and it has nothing to do with the one he was selected for. Short lives have years of experience through their own adventures; such is the perfection they have wrought in themselves. Alexander the Great and Odysseus matter not when the cold feelings like abuse of today's generation is being boiled over and over in us, mundane beings. So hear loud and clear, my voice drums against the coiling fear in your ears, lest you shall contrite, for I won't retrograde from telling of some worst nightmares! I write the poetry within mysteries or vice versa, I care not. After all, who's not the one to try be unique? "I love you Nicole, I have loved you since I first laid eyes on you at five years old. You were always beautiful. Your size never mattered to me. Please don't leave me." He began to tear up. "Sometimes love isn't enough Joe." I began to turn away from him, but he grabbed my face in anger. "I'm giving you my heart. Why does it matter if other people know about us?" His voice began to crack. "Why can't I be enough?" I begin to feel my own anger rise. "I deserve better and you know it. I won't let you keep me a secret because you're embarrassed that i'm fat." Joe has been bullying Nicole since kindergarten and doesn't plan to stop their senior year; even if they fall in love. Nicole is an overweight teenager and must find a way to survive high school and her own boyfriend. This story is about love, heartbreak, and maybe a little basketball.

What if . . . you could redo it all? The novella. #3 TimeTravel. If you could go back in time and redo one thing in your life, what would it be? Anaya, a disillusioned, thirty-five-year-old doctor, has been looking after Gregory, a retired watchmaker and resident of an aged care facility. On her last visit, he gifts her his final creation, an exquisitely-crafted watch, knowing she will die tragically that very day. It will turn back time. With one condition: she must choose the time and place to reset the clock, and redo just one thing in her life. Regrets, it seems, are easy to realise when you're dying. Hers was dropping out of school at seventeen. But what if, after one small change, her life would become much worse than it was? Or unthinkable disasters result from a single step off her path? When the alternative is die now, her choice makes itself. And so, Anaya's story begins with her last thought. Would I have done this if I had any option but the grave? Would you?

LORD OF THE FLIES X THE 100 --- The rules of Ros' post-apocalyptic world are simple: survive and defend her people, a group of teenagers called The Remains. She was lucky to find the leader of the Remains, Jack, After It All Ended, and she will do anything to keep him and the other Remains safe. Even take on one of the most dangerous jobs in the Remains -- being a scout that spies on their enemies, the Pride. She is faster, better, stronger than anyone in the Pride, but that's not the problem. The problem is the Pride has all the guns. Which is why Ros comes up with a plan to take down the Pride. It's very dangerous and it's fairly stupid, mostly because it involves trusting a high-ranking member of the Pride. But just when it seems to be working, Jack threatens to ruin everything Ros has worked for. So Ros has to choose -- loyalty to her people, or what she knows to be right. After all, Ros wants more than survival. She wants to live. --- Trident Awards Round 3 Qualifier. JeDi Awards Honorable Mention.

They have a hunger which is stronger than the need for food. Through the storm that is their lives all they seek is a glimmer of peace, a small ray of calm; just a little hint of blue.
