In 1994 I worked in a record store in Detroit - I only got the job because my boyfriend was the manager. It was on a boring Friday afternoon that Eminem stopped by with a friend to show us his mixtape, and try to impress my boyfriend with it. However, I had no idea how much this 'boring' afternoon would change my entire life..

Caprice Hollister is a female rapper by the stage name of Queen. One day at the shelter, a hip hop joint where rappers compete against other rappers, she has to go against Papa Doc's girl, Jasmine. But before she goes on she watched as someone better than her, someone so angelic but unorthodox, someone that's holding his grudge against the world....Choke.

Seventeen year old Brianna lives without much hope of a better life on the 8mile side of Detroit. Her only concern is her little brother, Brandon, and keeping him alive because it's not like her abusive mother has any intention of doing so. She struggles everyday to keep them from starving and out of trouble while at the same time dodging her mom's rage. When she meets the young Marshall Mathers, who later grows up to become the infamous Eminem, the hope of a better life finally becomes visible to her. They quickly find comfort within one another and their relationship becomes very close until life at home becomes even worse for Brianna. Sometimes it's difficult to judge human nature. We never really know how much a person can take until they finally snap. Things fall apart when tragedy strikes and Brianna finally reaches her breaking point. Her actions land her locked up with a broken heart and shattered soul. Brianna and Marshall's lives go separate directions afterwards and they have to face separate journeys. How will time affect their relationship? Will eventual fame cause Marshall to forget her? Or will their lives merge together once again? The story obviously begins when Marshall is a teenager and living in Detroit. This is my first fan fiction, so I'm sorry if it sucks. Also, I apologize for any errors. I finally rewrote it, and would just like to add this is definitely not a cliche story, so you're in for surprises.)
