Beware of the Saraceno family living on the farthest end of Winter Park. Cross their front yard and you'll be smothered, stuffed, and sedated- smothered by their hospitality, stuffed with mouth-watering Italian or Indian cuisine (depending on which part of their heritage they're proud of on that day), and sent home sedated by a serene sense of spiritual calmness. They're also blood-sucking creatures of the night but who needs to know about that? Note: This story contains loads of violent, gory, and embarassing scenes. Do not read if you are trigger-sensitive. Do read if you wanna have a good time. Cheerio! (Full introduction inside.)

In celebration of our one month anniversary, authors engaged in a stimulating Readathon and reviewed the works their partners had worked on in the month of June. The aim of the Readathon was not to exchange critiques or votes. Its purpose was to expose writers to a different style of writing and reflect on the subjectivity of writing. Authors were pushed to reflect on someone else's work in order to draw a lesson to share with everyone. Read on to find out what they learned!

[He leaned forward once more on his elbows, and his right eyebrow raised ever so slightly. The hairs of his brow near the bridge of his nose stuck up straight, while the rest of them followed a consistent pattern toward his ear. They looked like a few rebellious soldiers in an otherwise cohesive military unit, breaking formation as they marched off into battle. I wanted to punish them and smooth those hairs down with my finger. Or with my lips...] - excerpt from "The Best Medicine" [I released the charge of energy from my palm and felt it fire into the standing water that filled the arena grounds. The pulse crackled from my fingers and scattered across the floor, illuminating the battlefield with a blinding light. The sudden brightness forced me to shut my eyes, and I heard a scream as my arm went numb and gave out. I fell from my handstand with a large splash. ...Did it work?"] - excerpt from "Charge Toward Victory" [I looked to the other two in our party. Raven, our hunter, was silently drawing an arrow into the string of her bow, while Thresh, her wolfen companion, followed closely at her side. He bared his teeth, and the fur along his back stood upright in anticipation, paws scraping gently against the cement. Kleev, our rogue, had fingers curled over the hilts of his daggers at either side of his hips. His posture was tense, and he took every step with calculated vigilance. I gripped at my staff with both hands and took a silent gulp. We didn't know what was coming, but it was sure to appear soon.] - excerpt from "Into the Belly of the Beast" * * * * * * * * * * Here is a collection of my various one-shots and short stories compiled together in one place. Ranging from romance to horror, short to long, you'll be sure to find something that you like! Take some time, and prepare to be launched into a new adventure with each entry! :^)

Fear the dark. Bar the doors. Don't breathe a word. Wait for the Hooded Men to save you. The people of Nictaven live in fear of the night; governed by magic no one save a few can control, in a land plagued by demons and cannibal tribes, and isolated from all other worlds for centuries, they're right to. Only the Unspoken, a secretive guild of warriors linked with the land and its magic, provide any safety when darkness falls. For centuries, it has stayed like this. But in an abandoned crypt worlds away, Jordan Haverford is about to change that. It wasn't quite the holiday he had been hoping for. Plunged into a world where who you are and what you believe can kill you, a world of demons and knives in the dark and wars fought from behind the doors of the rich, Jordan's gentle Oxford upbringing isn't quite sufficient preparation. Instantly a pawn in a deadly game, separated from his sister and watched from the shadows by an assassin with a vendetta, he finds himself in the company of an Unspoken who has an uncanny knack for finding the Gifted - and Jordan can't seem to get rid of him.
