Seventeen-year-old Gavin Hillstone is resigned to being miserable for the rest of his life. Left alone in the world after his parents died in a fire when he was four, he was placed in foster care, which for him meant ending up in an abusive home with an alcoholic adoptive father. Gavin’s only escape is in taking and creating images. His camera is his refuge from the unending torture and isolation of daily life in his “family.” Until he learns by accident that he isn’t alone in the world after all. His father’s parents are still alive and living in Washington DC. When he takes the plunge and travels 3,000 miles to find his grandparents, he learns that they—and he—are part of something much bigger, and more dangerous, than he could ever have imagined. Something that has always put his family at risk and that will now threaten his own life, while forever changing it. He learns that he is one of the last descendants of a small group of Photo Travelers—people who can travel through time and space through images. But his initial excitement turns to fear, when he soon discovers that he and his grandparents are being pursued by the fierce remnants of a radical European Photo Traveler cult, the Peace Hunters. What Gavin has, they want! His adventure will take him to past eras, like The Great Depression and the Salem Witch Trials. Gavin will have to discover who he really is and must make choices that spell the difference between life and death for himself, for the relatives he now knows and loves, and for the girl he will come to love. For Gavin, life will never be the same.

Like the Hunger Games series? Then you'll love ''Man Hunt'' When Alice awakes in a small, bare room with nothing more than a letter, a backpack, a change of clothes and some survival gear, she doesn't know what to expect. She has no recollection of how she got to where she is, or even where she is and she can't help but feel frightened about the whole situation. According to the letter addressed to her name, her parents signed her up for a new televised game show in which twelve teenagers will be split into two equal teams. The teenagers will then take part in a slightly modified version of a childhood game they are all quite familiar with for the chance to win a sum of €1,000,000 for every member of the winning team. When Alice meets the rest of her group, they soon realise that they are stranded on an island and they have no other option but to cooperate. They quickly find the instructions and map their team has been supplied with and are forced to begin a game which they fear is darker than it may seem. The twelve teenagers can't be any more different, however they must push their divergence aside and hope that they have what it takes to win the game and return home with the money that could change their lives forever. In a tale of adventure, action and deceit; do Alice and her team have what it takes to leave the island as champions or is there a more sinister fate in store for them? Is this really just a game as their letters describe, or are there darker forces at work behind closed doors?

The Officials is the hardest, cruellest, most barbaric game in the history of television programmes, sending children aged 13-17 into the very real, very serious and very forbidding world of death. Their task once in the Maze is simple – Kill everybody who isn’t on your side by any means possible. There are 10 teams of 10 people, sorted out before entering the Maze, who help, protect and fight with you till the very end. Only one team can win the Officials, and so no other teams are able to live, making the lives of each individual very fearsome, distressing and miserable. Why enter this slaughter house you may ask? These children have been driven to the absolute extreme all for the thing that would make anyone brave enough risk death. The prize for winning the Officials is eternal glory, lasting fame, permanent wealth, and anything else anybody has ever wished for in their wildest dreams. All of this comes with the terrible risk of possible death, however, and most people bale out at the statistic of 10/100 children, at maximum, making it out alive. The people brave enough, and every year the Officials manage to find 100 of them, enter the Maze knowing too well that they probably won’t leave it. This is what the world has come to – Making children kill each other for an entertainment programme.
