Compton, California. It was the only place in the world I knew best. I wasn’t what you called ‘rich’ or ‘wealthy’, but I damn sure wasn’t poor either. I had everything I ever needed all because of my sweet and loving grandma, Izzy. She was my angel who wouldn’t dare hurt a fly. But somebody thought it was okay to gun her down in front of her home; little did they know they just started World War III. *In the process of editing!

It’s expected too, with her mom being a superstar broadcast journalist and her older brother Damon being an acclaimed writer and star sports player. Aaliyah lives a fantastic life, but still has to deal with tons of hardships and avoid many obstacles along her path to achieving her short term goal of finally making it to high school, what she feels as being closer to her dreams of being a successful business woman. Aaliyah has to deal with overwhelming family issues such as the divorce of her parents and the result of her “father’s” unfaithfulness, infidelity and a family secret that turns her world upside down. To make things even more pressing, she lives in the ruthless city of Willowsfield, statistically the number one most dangerous city in America. The city is where senseless community violence is the norm and life expectancy is low. My works #12 //. Part One : All I've ever wanted was to be Accepted, rather by others close to me or even just my mom. Part Two : It's just some things in life that you have to learn to accept, whether it's disapproval from ones close to you, a person you thought you loved or a person you used to call a friend. • • • DiaTheLit™ ©2016 all copyrights reserved
