Lately, Peter has noticed he has gotten closer to his mentor Tony Stark. And that scares him beyond belief. Every time he gets close to someone he sees as family, they die. This time, Peter is determined to break that unforgiving cycle by distancing himself entirely. He can't lose another person. What he doesn't take into account is that the cycle might try to take Tony away regardless. --- Peter is ignoring Tony, then watches in horror as Iron Man falls from the sky.

Tony Stark left his weapons manufacturing life behind a long time ago. Now he does everything he can to do the right thing and help people as Iron Man. But he never expected his questionable past to come back to haunt him, especially by hurting one of the most important, undeserving people in his life: Peter Parker. - One of Tony's old weapons is used not against him, but against Peter.

Recently following the battle with Toomes, Peter has an unexpected onslaught of sensory overload. May, who's still getting used to her nephew being Spider-Man, has no idea what's going on or how to help. It doesn't help that Peter also has to deal with Flash's rude comments. Tony Stark is convinced by his family friend Obadiah Stane to adopt a kid in order to improve the tarnished image of Stark Industries. The media always loves a soft, single dad, so it's perfect to get the PR they need. Pepper is enraged. Rhodey is disappointed. Happy is confused. All of this, Tony expected. What he doesn't expect is to bring home a kind-hearted, intelligent, four-year-old kid named Peter who slowly gets him to come out of his egocentric shell.

The Avengers spend a late Halloween night watching BuzzFeed Unsolved, exchanging in the usual banter, until their fun is interrupted by a series of alarms. F.R.I.D.A.Y., however, doesn't know why the alarms went off in the first place. With every spooky adventure comes poor decision, theirs being the choice to split up into groups to find what could have triggered the security system. Team Tony, Team Steve, and Team Natasha explore an eerie, empty Avenger's Tower in the middle of the night in hopes of solving this mystery.

In hindsight, Peter knows he never should've texted a stranger as Spider-Man, even jokingly. It just seemed like such a fun idea at the time and he was beyond bored. One measly text to his number neighbor couldn't hurt, right? Everyone was doing it, after all. However, he may get more than he bargained for.

The stress of the semester is catching up with Peter. Between trying to keep up with patrol, the Stark Internship, and exams, he feels himself start to cave under the pressure. May is there to make sure her nephew doesn't stay down for the count.

"What's on your mind?" Tony finally inquires. Peter continues to stare out the window for a few moments, then sighs. "Do you ever wish you could see the stars? I mean really see them. Without the light pollution and the smog. I see those pictures all the time of the milky way that just looks like, like a giant cloud of stars across the sky. I wanna see stars like that someday." -On a cold, winter night, Peter realizes dejectedly that he's never seen truly bright stars. Tony plans a special gift for the kid while also preparing an unforgettable night to celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas with their friends and family.
