Lately, Peter has noticed he has gotten closer to his mentor Tony Stark. And that scares him beyond belief. Every time he gets close to someone he sees as family, they die. This time, Peter is determined to break that unforgiving cycle by distancing himself entirely. He can't lose another person. Tony Stark is convinced by his family friend Obadiah Stane to adopt a kid in order to improve the tarnished image of Stark Industries. The media always loves a soft, single dad, so it's perfect to get the PR they need. Pepper is enraged. Rhodey is disappointed. Happy is confused. All of this, Tony expected. In hindsight, Peter knows he never should've texted a stranger as Spider-Man, even jokingly. It just seemed like such a fun idea at the time and he was beyond bored. "What's on your mind?" Tony finally inquires. Peter continues to stare out the window for a few moments, then sighs. "Do you ever wish you could see the stars? I mean really see them. Without the light pollution and the smog. I see those pictures all the time of the milky way that just looks like, like a giant cloud of stars across the sky. I wanna see stars like that someday." -On a cold, winter night, Peter realizes dejectedly that he's never seen truly bright stars. Tony plans a special gift for the kid while also preparing an unforgettable night to celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas with their friends and family.
