In Book I of the trilogy, Tamras, our hero, arrives in Merin’s house to begin her apprenticeship as a warrior, but her small stature causes many, including Tamras herself, to doubt that she will ever become a competent swordswoman. To make matters worse, the Lady Merin assigns her the position of companion, little more than a personal servant, to a woman who came to Merin’s house, seemingly out of nowhere, the previous winter, and this stranger wants nothing to do with Tamras. Tamras’s journey begins with the smallest of steps. She sets aside her disappointment and performs as well as she can the humble tasks given her, and eventually she succeeds in winning the trust and then the friendship of the cantankerous warrior to whom she has been assigned. In the first year of her journey, Tamras will make a series of choices that often seem insignificant, but they will flow from her character and from her good intentions, and they will determine her destiny.

Aela lives a rather happy and unpretentious life as part of the servitude of a minor principality in northern Pelair. Her life changes forever the day she returns from one of her usual hunting raids and finds the villa where her adoptive mother lives, ablaze in flames. Brannan returns home after a war campaign, only to discover that he is betrayed by his own father, who has no scruples or limits in his quest for power. Fate propitiates Aela and Brannan's paths to intertwine in this milieu of war, rivalry, and betrayal, ending up sharing a series of adventures in an epic journey in which they also find loyalty, friendship, and love, leading them to ultimately discover that their lives are inexorably linked to the fate of Pelair. PELAIR is an epic fantasy novel set in an imaginary medieval world. With the action and daring of Game of Thrones and the journey of search and redemption of Lord of the Rings, this novel will take you on a journey of adventure, intrigue, revenge, and magic in which the eternal struggle between good and evil develops in a unique and original plot. A modern retelling of "Lord of the Flies" by William Golding. Imagine if, instead of a group of British schoolboys, a bunch of girls were stranded on the island. One would expect them to be organized. To conduct themselves in a well-mannered way. Never mind that they are on an island: these are girls, and girls are sweet; innocent, even. They would never be able to harm a soul. Never resort to hunting down one of their fellow companions. They're just not capable. Right? [COMPLETED]
