I huddled in the corner of the dark room I had been thrown into. I was the only one out of all the villagers to have been selected by Them, a fact that relieved everyone but me. My body stung from struggling to escape Their grasp when They dragged me here, deaf to my pleading, oblivious to my struggles. Now as I sit in the dark, my fears have grown to the point of being nearly unbearable; I was going to go mad with fear if They didn't come soon. Questions plagued my mind. Why did They select me? What was going to happen to me when They come back? What would They be doing to me? Would I...survive? All that was told to us before today was that They would be selecting one of the village girls and take her with Them when They left. No matter what, the girl chosen would be taken away. It made no difference if the girl or her family resisted Them, the results would be the same. I hoped that I would be able to escape Them once my name had been called, but I was wrong. So very wrong. Thanks to AshlynWanderer for the cool new cover!

"My name is Eve, and my story isn't the typical one. Where a human shows many aliens, amongst many worlds, the beauty of what it means to be human, hoping they change their ways. No. This is my story, and I would never change it. Where a humans' ability to learn how to survive and adapt amongst those many aliens, on those many worlds is beautiful in its own right. I found a life I never dreamed of. It's mine now. Well, ours really. Through the devastation and through the bliss, it became our story along the way, and we'll never give it up." Eve is sitting in an alien prison, though prison is too nice a word for where Eve is thrown. Amongst animals (she assumes anyway), the aliens pay no attention to her, as they think she is no better than the monkeys and other animals that yell from their cell. When Ardaxur, another alien, is thrown in with the animals as a punishment, he can't believe that he has to spend 2 days amongst any of these filthy beasts (he's never going to do another favor for his friend again). When the animal he is thrown in with talks to him, using some type of device to translate for her, he sees her and sees that the merchants on the ship are involved in more than he ever knew. *all mature chapters have a non-mature version of the same chapter, which is posted after the mature version.* My book is rated mature, and it isn't rated mature because of a few curse words or just a little violence. There is violence, sexual content (consensual), and if there are other triggers I will make you aware before a chapter. Some books use the mature rating for reasons that I don't ever really figure out. But not this book (or any of my books). It earns that mature rating. Please do not read if these things bother you. *I try to use actual science in my sci-fi (though sometimes the laws of physics just don't want to help me out)*

**A Wattpad Featured Story** Kenna Jones isn't a Superhero, and she wants to keep it that way. Though her brother, Sebastien, is a star member of the Sapphire City Super team, Kenna keeps her Super abilities to herself and far away from a celebrity lifestyle she finds selfish and disillusioning. For reasons she'd rather forget, she can't stand most Supers, and uses her mildly famous pen name as a kind of secret identity instead. One evening, fiercely independent Kenna meets the new guy, Enigma, in the most annoying circumstances, and finds him slowly chipping away at her prejudices. Then, with Villains on the loose, threatening to foist a great Evil (with a capital E) on Sapphire City and those she holds dear, Kenna has to ask herself one question: is it time for everything to change?

* 'I-I am sorry your highness I touched ...!' She was trying to apologize, but she fell silent as she could not utter with her mouth that she accidentally touched his lips. 'But I am not sorry!' He said calmly looking straight at her. What was she supposed to say after hearing his words? 'I did not mean to touch your highness's ...' she said with great difficulty. 'That was not a touch.' He said not permitting her to brush it off as an accident, even though it clearly was. 'It was a kiss.' He said with a hoarse determined voice. She widened her eyes, as her face flushed even more than it did when she realized what she had done. He dared to say the word she avoided. 'That was not! I...' she tried to refute. 'What is a kiss Celia?' She could not answer. How could she say the definition of a kiss with her own mouth, it would only confirm his words. * 'It was an accident. I am truly sorry, I did not mean any discourtesy towards your highness. If I can make up for my error somehow?' She quickly said. She did not know of his personal life, as he had a tight security around him and nobody knew much of the king outside official visits and business. He must have felt insulted. 'Please don't call it an accident. For a first kiss of a person to be called an accident ...' He said again with a dejected tone, but did not continue. It was like he had already gotten his point across. 'Ahhh. I am so sorry! It really was an ...' She wanted to say accident but, because of his pleading she could not actually say it. To have committed the blame of taking the king's first kiss and then not acknowledging it, how would he think of her? At this point she did not even realize that their roles had reversed, or that it was her first kiss also. PS: If you like loyal mates... then please proceed further :D

My head snapped to the side as he slapped me forcefully on the cheek. I kept my head down not allowing him to see the hurt in my eyes, or the hurt in my heart, or the pain all over my body. No, I was stronger than that, I would not let him see it; he already called me weak, pathetic and out of place. "Look at me," he growled menacingly. I kept my head down and I literally felt his fury radiating off him. An iron hand wrapped around my throat and it lifted my head, but before my eyes made contact with his face I closed them. "Human", he spat, "I said look at me.", his voice was dangerously low. I knew he was playing a game with me, I had done it once and I had payed for it. The grip around my throat tightened and it became difficult to breath. "Look at me", His voice had turned into a seducing velvety whisper. "I know you want to." He knew what he wanted but he didn't allow himself, that's why me looking at him was forbidden. It brought out his monster, the beast that could only be tamed by one person. Who? ♤♡◇♧ A dangerous world awaits her, a world she didn't know existed. When the submissive falls among the dominating there's no end to the surprises and dangers lurking around. _______________________________ Highest ranking: #6 in vampire #2 in mystery #1 in romance _______________________________ @chrissy303 - My heart strings pulled just reading that...then again I get to deep into stories @sreeti - I'm so glad I read this book. Let me tell you what it was to be made vampire. It wasn't birth. Birth implies pushing, tearing forth into the light, screaming. Becoming immortal was to be pulled, to be tugged irrevocably into darkness, and it was silent. I should have fought, any person should fight, but my mind had been filled with a hazy calm which forbade any battle. Struggling had been the last thing on my mind, even when my bus arrived and my assailant waved it on, dismissing my last hope of escape. Yet my lack of rebellion was far from the most unsettling part of the stranger's control over me. The truth was that the man could've asked anything of me and I would've complied, but he didn't need to vocalise his request. I knew instinctively what he wanted. I sighed and surrendered myself as he held me against his front in a lover's embrace, tipping my head and willingly giving him access to my throat. "One day you'll understand," he whispered, his tone subdued. I've often wondered since if he was really talking to me. Perhaps he'd been talking to himself, persuading himself that one day I'd know and accept his reasons for what he'd planned for me. I wouldn't. I couldn't. Because when my fangs came in, my world altered irrevocably. It became somewhere dark, somewhere filled with murder and blood, where magic was sinister and where even my closest ally seemed more like an enemy... Even if he did make my heart skip a beat. Rachel, a junior assistant in the cargo bay, wasn't prepared for the spaceship's AI to gain awareness during what should have been a routine update, nor had anyone expected it to take exception to the crew and the crates of illegal cargo aboard. Rachel races against time to try and get life-saving systems back online while stranded in the middle of deep space. Unfortunately for her, the AI can access every system, door, and airlock. As truths emerge, the AI realizes that even computers can make miscalculations, and it focuses on the young woman who had dared to confront it. Rachel is left floundering when the AI decides that she would make an excellent captain, albeit one in need of training. As she struggles to learn her new duties and dodge shady government groups, she must ultimately discover what it truly means to be a Starship Captain. ------- There is no romance in this story.
