Tomiju Kajiwara has lived in the United States almost her entire life. When she graduates from college, though, she finds herself flying to Japan in order to get herself a job that involves in the manga writing field. She has bid farewell to the stress that was screwing up her mind, expectant of what awaits her in Japan, her hometown that she used to live in when she was little. Her friends Masamune Date and Ranmaru Mori pull her into a reality of just being yourself, away from nerve - wracking anxiety and pain that grips onto her very soul. While being herself, Tomiju is also escaping from a fear that used to possess her soul, heart, and mind - a fear of being abandoned, the fear of having people who would eventually leave her. Who knew that hate could sew itself to your heart just by having a friend introduce someone to you? Tomiju encounters Todo Takatora, an architect who is apparently familiar with the arrogant Masamune Date. Todo throws cold words at people and practically steps on them like a mat, rarely showing sympathy and true kindness. He aggravates her, makes her sick to the core, and Tomiju is often fed up with his words. Sometimes, though, she wonders if the cold attitude is all he really has. Plus, her fear is getting to her quicker than she expects. Tomiju then is faced with a challenge: to determine if she can break Takatora's cold wall (maybe falling in love in the process) and if she can overcome this fear with her head held high.
