When Dream feels his heart rate speed up at the end of George's Livestream, he knows he's too far gone. "This feels so wrong," George says and repeats. Dream clicks off the stream, the sounds of labored breathing filling the room as he tried to stem the panic he was feeling. The next day, after he had just barely dragged himself away from the edge of oblivion and heartache he would never return from, he felt the first tickle at the back of his throat. He coughed roughly, it sounded like he had fluid in his lungs or something. Pneumonia, maybe? It began with a mysterious email invitation to try out a new type of VR. Before they know it, Dream and George are stuck together in a virtual world, with no way of escape. Can they survive and find a way out of the game? Or will they be stuck there forever? TW: Angst, blood, brief mention of needles, death, a good amount of swearing, violence, etc. I know, I know. The "stuck in a video game" trope is very overused. But... come on. It's such a good basis for a fanfic, I couldn't resist. At the age of twenty-one he's finally ready to take some risks and meet new people, or at least, that's what he's trying to tell himself. As George battles with his self worth and feelings of discouragement, he has a chance encounter with an American stranger in the middle of the night. Could an unlikely friendship between the two change the trajectory of George's life?
