Here's a little bit of advice; be wary of those that smile bright. The ones that never seem to snap under the pressure. The ones who contain shining souls and have the purest hearts. They are the ones that have the farthest to fall. And you can never tell exactly where they will land. However, you can be assured that they will always land. Midoriya Izuku will land, and out of everyone else . . . he might just have the farthest to fall.

A Diamond in the Rough is in the current stages of being rewritten and moved to Ao3 for a new, updated version of the story! Thank you all for your patience, I'll update you all on the new story once it's done! The original story will be kept on Wattpad but it will receive no new updates and such. It looks like Izuku Midoryia does have a quirk! He can compress anything into diamonds using his mothers pressure and dads fire quirk! A perfect (and somewhat op) combination! Midoriya Izuku was the main target for bullying due to his quirkless nature and one day he decided to take their advice. After waking up in the hospital he finds that he does have a quirk now but he now wishes he remained quirkless.

Izuku has not had an easy life in recent years. After he develops an evil quirk, he is sent to a facility that claims it exists in order to research and develop unique quirks, though they have an unorthodox way of going about it. Izuku is tortured for years until aided in escape by a fellow patient. His past will forever be sealed in bloody memories, but what exactly will the future hold?

What if, and hear me out here, Izuku did something about being 'quirkless'? What if he stood up and said he wasn't going to take shit from anyone? Well . . . I think it might go a little something like this.

No one believed Izuku when he said he had a quirk. Of course no one would believe the delusional quirkless boy who always mumbles to someone who nobody had ever seen, and was obsessed with books about of elixirs and conjurations and hypnosis. That of course changed when odd things began to occur around the boy. It started with his childhood 'friend's' broken arm healing mysteriously. Then, when everyone who crossed the boy ended up getting hurt. And lastly, when people began to swear they saw his shadow move without him. The town was full of whispers about how that boy may not be as quirkless as they thought.. But quirks like that don't exist. ...right?

When Midoriya's mother died and Bakugou took the bullying too far, he decides he's had enough. While running from Katsuki's anger, Midoriya stumbles on a book that will change his life forever. I'm not gonna have Izuku lose limbs here, because almost everyone turns him into green-haired Ed. I'm not doing that. Story:Meme ratio: High
