Technically, the two should have never met , given the drastic differences in the geographical locations of their home + their respective lifestyles. But Fate surely had other plans for meet - they indeed did.For the very first time at the age of 18 in quite an unique setting/ circumstances that eventually led to an instant connection in between the two. But here's the catch- apparently this instant connection was meant to be shortlived- not because he didn't want to convert it into something substantial but because at first - she didn't want the same because of her skepticalities of his world and then well, Life eventually got in their way with its plans...and as it took them on different courses - the two just settled back into the rhythms of their respective worlds eventually - remembering the other often - as a fond memory!
