Book 1 in the "Life in-" series Scarlett Rain Rhodes is just like every other 17 year old high school Junior. She goes to school, makes good grades, cheers on her schools squad and tries to stay out of drama. What makes her different is the fact that she is responsible for taking care of her four siblings after her parents passed in a car crash two years ago. Now her life consists of football games, doctors appointments and a whole lot of yelling. After spending two years of trying to keep every person she meets at arms length what will she do when the new guy just can't take a hint? Ashton McClain is charming, arrogant and extremely good looking. He's a perfect guy and he seems hellbent of getting to know the real Scarlett. Not the girl who smiles politely when people talk to her and remains quiet in the back of the classroom. He wants to know the girl who talks nonstop and yells obscenities at bad referees. The problem is that after two years Scarlett doesn't know if she's able to confront that side of her without completely falling apart. * This story is completed * * WON A 2019 CHICK LIT FICTION AWARD Hit 1 Million Reads (2/19/19) Hit 2 Million Reads (4/03/19) Hit 3 Million Reads (6/04/19) Hit 4 Million Reads (7/09/19) Hit 5 Million Reads (8/17/19) Hit 6 Million Reads (11/20/19) Hit 7 Million Reads (1/26/20) Hit 8 Million Reads (4/10/20) Hit 9 Million Reads (5/23/20) Hit 10 Million Reads (8/28/20) #1 in General Fiction (2/05/19) #2 in Fiction (4/10/20) #4 in Humor (1/15/19) #18 in Teen Fiction (3/05/19) #3 in ChickLit (12/22/18) #1 in Drama (4/19/20) #4 in Young Adult (3/15/19) #6 in Teen Romance (1/15/19) #1 in Football (12/ 03/18) #1 in Loss (1/03/19) #1 in Adorable (1/10/19) #19 in Romance (6/18/19) #1 in Teen Love (11/13/19)

Life doesn't abide by the rules of a child. Sixteen-year-old Ramona knows this. She's seen it throughout her entire life, from the way she was treated by her birth parents to the way she was thrown around the foster system with nothing but her little brother, Mason, to hold onto. Every bruised cheek and broken bone has slowly shattered Ramona's trust in the system and any foster parent she's ever met. In the end, it's only Mason she can trust. Her life is dedicated to making his better, and focused solely on sheltering him from the pain of feeling as lonely as she is. That is, until Ramona gets news one day that may just uproot everything she's ever believed about her and Mason's situation. Everything is about change for Mason, all because of a man named Owen Parker. He wants to take the only thing that Ramona has ever truly loved. He wants to adopt her brother, and there is nothing she can do to stop him. Though after years of running and years of pain, Ramona knows just how badly Mason needs a home. It's a breath of fresh air for him, a family filled with love, and everything that Mason has never had. But then, what about Ramona? She's brotherless, parentless, and alone in a city that has never cared about her. She has to find a way to cope, and she has to find a way to forgive the man who took her little boy from her. But she can't cope, she can't forgive, and she can only bend so many times before she breaks. - - Warning: This story deals with mature content that may be difficult for some to read, such as self-harm, suicide, drug use, abuse, depression, anxiety, and sexual harassment. - - Highest Ranks: |#1| - adopted |#1| - fosterkid |#1| - fostercare |#1| - foster |#1| - suicideawareness |#1| - recovery |#1| - comingofage |#1| - mentalillness |#1| - strength |#2| - adoption

In the attic of Jade's childhood was an old trunk, locked. And even though she couldn't pry it open, nor did she have the key, the muffled sobs coming from inside told her more than she wanted to remember. ☆ Winner of The Fiction Awards 2019 ☆ 🌼 🌼 🌼 ⚠️ Trigger Warning! ⚠️ This is not some fairytale about falling in love and living happily ever after. This story is a reflection of reality, it's about real characters facing real hardships and struggles in life. RATED M (Please read the tags for more info about the story. Five siblings, catapulted into chaos. Striving hard to create a grounded foundation amidst a cruel world, hoping that building walls will protect them against the hungry hands trying to tear them into pieces. They only ever wanted to love and be loved but life carved its marks into their hearts. Poisoned people and a series of misfortunes left their souls tainted. 🌼 🌼 🌼 ❗❗❗ This book is a PREQUEL which means that the story takes place several years before the first book, 'FADED'. This work is a part of a backstory that focuses on the events that occurred before the original narrative. It is not necessarily required that you read FADED to understand this one, but I do strongly recommend it to get a better understanding of the characters and setting. 🌼 🌼 🌼 ⚠️ Trigger Warning! ⚠️ This is not some fairytale about falling in love and living happily ever after. "She wasn't supposed to be here. She wasn't supposed to see my name on the list of effed up teens. She was not supposed to see my faults. And she, nor anyone else in my life, was supposed to know my story." ~~~ "I never thought he would be there. Sitting beside me, leg shaking, his once flirtatious eyes were now rimmed with tears. Bad boy quarterbacks were not supposed to spend their Thursday nights at group therapy ~~~~ A popular quarterback and notorious goody-two-shoes meet at a teen mental health support group. A support group both adolescents try hard to keep a secret. Levi is the school's quarterback, he's a stereotypical quarterback, except a bit dumber and a lot richer. His peers peg him as a self-centered jerk. Except the only thing he's ever done for himself included razors and a letter. Emery is the school's notorious good girl with her never-ending straight A's , constant grin, and flawlessly planned out future. However, her flawless future does not include a PhD..it includes being less than a size zero. But it's hard to see her struggle behind all her school success. ~~~ This story is to bring awareness to the stigma and misconceptions about mental illnesses and who can and cannot have one. I'm very excited! Also, due to shorter chapters, I'll update them in pairs (possibly twice a week.) But for sure I will update either Friday around noon or Saturday mornings
