"I've never had poison flow through my veins, but this is exactly what I imagine it would feel like." A series of fictional memoirs written by fictional patients. Read on for a satirical retelling of diseases, their symptoms and their cures. Every word written - albeit exaggerated - is 100% accurate to the best of my knowledge. I've double and triple checked every fact.

After six years in a progressive French boarding school, eighteen-year-old Lady Alice returns to her family's estate in Surrey, dreading the fate that awaits her-- debutante balls, an arranged marriage, and a life she does not want. She would have preferred to stay in France, teaching and writing love tales rather than living one dictated by others. Once cast aside by her own father and a stepmother, Alice finds their sudden desire for reconciliation hollow. Only her childhood best friend, Michael, Marquess Lovelace, seems like a true comfort. But as she settles back into her former home, something strange begins to happen. A black rabbit, eerily familiar, appears in the shadows-- just like the one that belonged to Edmond, her long-forgotten imaginary friend. And then she meets Count D'Arcy, the enigmatic and elusive neighbour whose presence unsettles her. His eyes, his voice, his very being remind her of Edmond. Could it be him? Or is her mind playing tricks on her? As the social season unfolds, Alice finds herself tangled in a web of mystery, romance, and the supernatural. The past and present blur, forcing her to question what is real, what is illusion, and whether love can exist beyond the bounds of reason. In the haunting halls of her childhood home and under the watchful gaze of Count D'Arcy, Alice must uncover the truth before she loses herself to the unknown. ~~~ My entry for the ONC 2025 based on the prompt 105: Your childhood imaginary friend, who disappeared years ago, suddenly returns - only this time, they're real.

Some of my writings from 2025. The cover photo is an old picture of our yard before we took down the fence. It was about 50 years old and parts were already gone or detached or rotted. We planted all those trees.- Julie Dove

I read somewhere that when you stop believing in Santa Claus, you get underwear for Christmas. Well, I'm not going to give you just any underwear. I'm giving you my Christmas shorts. A collection of short Christmas stories. Some romances, some humor, and a lot of Christmas sentimentality.

Only, the machine malfunctions, landing her in 1840s Britain instead, straight into the household of uptight Lord Edmund Worthington on the very morning of his arranged wedding. A collection of paranormal, horror and fantasy short stories woven around old legends, odd characters, the occasional werewolf and the darkness within, some of which have been published or picked up the odd award. There are things you cannot see unless they want to be seen, and some legends linger on despite the modern world. A Gift in the Dark is a compilation of short works, many based around old myths and legends, and starts with a tale of a miner's descent into madness, history and legend, drifts through darkness, past a retelling of Red Riding Hood, up a crane, and along to the end of the world.

In January 2020, I lost my father in a traumatic way as he passed while I was performing CPR. As a way to cope, I started to journal. My journal entries quickly turned to poetry, a form of writing that I had no experience in. Over time, my poems have evolved to be about more than my father. I'll start to share them in this book. I believe the works in here are a collaboration between my father and I. Rest in peace SBR. I love you and hope you enjoy this book as much as I enjoy the comfort I get from writing these poems
