Naofumi was just your average college student. In less than a day, he's thrown into another world and asked to save it. He would try to do what he could, but it seems that this world is against him as soon as he starts.

You are Y/N, a young mage in the world of Equave. It is a relatively peaceful world. One day Y/N decides to goes on a mission to clear an old dungeon with a group of adventurers but they are slowly killed one by one... Y/N is separated from the group and happens upon a small tome with a simple staff etched onto the hard cover. As he opens it he finds himself in a new world, the world of five heros destined to stop the waves... but what will happen when he finds himself befriending the Shield Hero Naofumi?

There is a legend that says five cardinal heroes will fend off waves of catastrophe and save the world. Each carrying a unique weapon. A spear, a sword, a bow, a shield, and finally a gauntlet. Tis is the story of The Hero of The Gauntlet, David Richards. He will face many challenges along the way and make his mark on the world. My fourth series, this time based off the recent and popular anime, "The Rising of the Shield Hero" will, like all my other stories, follow from the perspective of my own OC. The story itself will we changed accordingly to this new characters actions but all changes will be done repsectfully towards the anime and manga, meaning they won't have any drastic effects on the original outcomes of situations. This series will start off quick but will start to get slow as I plan to follow along from the anime side of things. But if I feel like it, i'll switch over to the manga and speed things up again. This is a story about Naofumi Iwatani, a 20-year-old Japanese guy who, after finding a mysterious book in a library, gets summoned to another world to fight off a recurring phenomenon called "The Waves of Calamity", and finds himself, along with three others, equipped with one weapon each, Naofumi's "weapon" being a shield. After being summoned to another world to fight, how will this other world receive them? And of course, how will Naofumi fight when he can only defend? This is a story based on Aneko Yusagi's "The Rising of the Shield Hero" Light Novel. This story came to be after I began getting increasingly bored of the original series since it left its initial premise after volume 5 of the Light Novel. This also aims to fix a lot of personal gripes with the original series post-volume 4, mostly to do with power levels and scale of each conflict. Note: There will be relatively small changes in the beginning, but the number of changes, as well as the impact they have on the overarching story will increase as this progresses So, if you liked the original premise for this story and wanted to see something more grounded compared to the later parts of the story, then this is definitely for you!

This is a fanfiction of the story "Rising of the Shield Hero". I mostly oriented on the Light and Web Novel. Could contain some spoilers. After Tale is my story about what's happening between Naofumi and Raphtalia after the last waves of destruction. A lot of fluff is to be expected.
