The sixteen-year-old pianist Xenja is suffering from selective mutism which keeps her from talking to people outside of her family. This made finding friends almost impossible for her and being alone constantly made her fall into depression. The spoiled eighteen-year-old Stevie had to move in with her grandparents and now has to adapt to a very poor and limited lifestyle. SHe had dreamt of taking piano lessons for a long time but doesn't have money to do so. When both Xenja's mother and Stevie's grandparents ask the school for help with their situations, Xenja giving Stevie free piano lessons seems to be the solution that kills two birds with one stone.
