The crew of the Enterprise are invited to a holodeck murder mystery birthday party in honour of Data. Everyone is thrilled about the prospect of spending shore leave engaged in a thrilling murder mystery. Set at a large fictional manor house they attempt to solve the mystery written in the holodeck program. But it soon becomes apparent things are not quite what they seem. There's something about the butler that's familiar and unwelcome. Neither Captain Picard nor Guinan can quite put a finger on it. The Enterprise crew soon realise they are puppets in a game - and Lore and Q are pulling the strings. Ensemble cast.

Geordi doesn't know how to react when a pretty Ensign sets her sights on Data. He's happy for Data, he's sure of it, yet he doesn't understand why he also is sick to his stomach.
