At 12 years old Kayleigh was put in the skybox for her black blood, little did she know on the ground she was royalty. 3 months before her 18th birthday the ark sends 100 prisoners to the ground including Kayleigh. Once landed she is criticised and attacked for her last name (Kane) for some prisoners claim she is privileged. When the death of a close friend occurs she flees to the other inhabitants of the ground, for she is tired of the cruelty from the prisoners. She builds her way up through the rankings of a grounder, slowly growing more praised and respected. The 100 thought she was dead, but she was thriving.

"Would you like to train with me and the other natblidas?" Lexa asked in Trig as if it was a test. She looked sincere as she asked, so I decided to accept it. My mind flickered to Harper, then Octavia, and finally Bellamy. I shook the thoughts away mentally and physically. I nodded, signaling a yes. "Very well, we'll start here in the Trikru camp. You may leave." I threw a curt nod her way and walked out of the tent. A sense of pride flooded my body as I kept my chin and back at perfect posture. I was lead back to my tent, for the air was getting cold and the sky was getting a milky dark color. I nodded a thank you to the guard who had been watching me and awkwardly got into the bed of the semi-large tent. I closed my eyes, not knowing what was going to happen next. *WARNING* Book contains mentions of gore and blades. Read at your own caution.

She couldn't really explain how she came upon the planet called Earth, as she couldn't really explain anything. She woke up in the woods with no memory of how she got there. She couldn't even remember a detail about herself, not even her own name. Unfortunately for the teenage girl, her memory loss was not a good enough answer for the people she found herself surrounded by. The Grounders of Earth took the stranger hostage, demanding to know how she came to the planet, with only small mutters of her falling from the sky. She was left without answers, which only angered the people around her which led her through a long year of tortuous interrogations that left her barely alive. It wasn't until her one friend among the Grounders helped her free herself, allowing her to escape from her captivity. Left alone in the woods, barely alive after her latest beating, she ran through the woods in the hopes of the Grounders not being able to find her again, knowing they would surely kill her. Finding herself lost in the woods, and barely able to walk, she found herself surrounded by a group of new people, and by even more surprise than learning the Grounders weren't the only people out there, she learns that they know who she is.
