Monsters once ruled the world. Boogiemen roamed the shadows. Werewolves prowled along forest trails. Humans cowered in fear as their power. That was until the humans fought back. Unlike the monsters, they were much more unified. They were able to band together under one name, and unite against their hunters. They drove their enemies to the ends of the earth. Their roles were now reversed. Monsters were now forced into hiding. They have been reduced to nothing but scary stories used to frighten naughty human children. Old enough to remember their glory days, vampires and ghosts live in seemingly abandoned castles and mansions. Zombies returned to their graves from whence they rose. Water monsters crept into the bottom of the ocean, never to see the light of day again. Some more human looking monsters had even decided to try to hide among the humans. That was all until 200 years ago when the dullahan, Nora Bloodgood, formed Monster High. Using the limited supplies she had she used an old replica castle in Salem to house the facility. Monster High was created both as a place for monsters to meet each other, a place of protection and a place of learning. However, since monsters do not have a way to communicate with each other not many know about the existence of Monster High. Nora uses her limited magic to locate young monsters whenever she can to recruit them into her school. She one day hopes that they will no longer have to conceal themselves from the humans but no one knows how close or far away that day will come.
