"N-No... please... Don't do this... Don't leave us..." Iowa begged. (Y/n) gave a sad smile and kissed her. "I'm sorry, Iowa. I don't have a choice." "Don't, please..." New Jersey hugged him, tears streaming down her cheeks. Missouri and Wisconsin joined in and hugged the male kansen, their audible sobbing echoing in his mind. "We don't want you to die..." Missouri whimpered. (Y/n) patted her head. "As long as you wouldn't forget me, I will not die." Wisconsin grabbed him by the collar. "ARE YOU STUPID?! DO YOU THINK WE WOULD LET YOU- GAH!!!" She winced in pain when (Y/n) took a syringe and stabbed it to her neck, knocking her unconscious. "I'm sorry." He whispered in her ear, giving her one last kiss before he turned around, sailing away from them at maximum speed, ignoring their cries. They wanted to follow after him, but their wounds prevented them from doing so. Iowa, New Jersey, and Missouri could only watch in horror and sadness as (Y/n) charged onto the massive Siren fleet that was heading straight to them. Their riggings were badly damaged, so fighting back is useless. 'If this could bring back freedom and peace, then...' (Y/n) throught and smiled, his chest glowing bright blue. The light became brighter and brighter until... BOOM!

I wrote this short story inspired by controversy surrounding a Civil War memorial at my university. I wrote this hoping to inspire a sense of connection, understanding, and empathy. I also wanted to emphasize a common theme found in war - that often "it's a rich man's war, but a poor man's fight" and how often soldiers who fight and lay down their lives at war do not necessarily share the same principles or politics as those in power who start these wars. Of course, I also added fantasy elements too inspired by an SCP entry and wanted to create a broader narrative. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. Chapter 11 was just coming to a close while Zizzy and Pony were taking out all the soldiers. One curious Soldier recognizes Torcher's absence and sets out to look for him. After heading up to the catwalk, the sight before him leaves Soldier stunned. There Torcher was, thrown across the ground and into a bench. Wood splinters were all tearing at his uniform while he lay there, unconscious. Soldier started to panic, not sure of what to do with the lifeless being in front him. The night became briefly silent before the sound of people running grew closer and closer. They were coming this way! Carefully and gently, Soldier picked him up and ran down the stairs and all the way out the exit. None of this was making sense! What happened to him? What happened to everybody else? Scared, confused, and all alone, the two set out to get to bottom of this, and more importantly, realize their feelings for each other.

When Kieran looked around his new camp, he was thankful for many things. The situation he had found himself in, however, was not one of them.

Many ghost towns scatter the Midwest, from Arizona to California the forlorn towns call to curiosity seekers, history buffs, and ghost hunters alike. Some abandoned for no reason at all while others fell to economic or natural disasters. But what happens when the town's were abandoned because they were actually haunted? Honestly I think this story is evolving into a western, and I'm not sure how to feel about it.

Francine has always had a gift. She has always been able to sense ghosts and she loved the paranormal. However when she went civil war ghost hunting she never expected for one to follow her home. She expected even less to have said ghost turn out to be the man she'd always dreamed of. She hadn't exptected him to fall in love with her or to fall in love with him. But that is exactly what happened. But surely this is crazy and nothing could make this relationship work.... could it?
