There are many ailments, viruses, and diseases from space and alien worlds that one can contract aboard the Starship Enterprise. The medical bay has seen almost all of them. But Doctor McCoy has never had to deal with a certain disease one of his nurses is inflicted with. One cure is dangerous and leaves the patient with more losses than gains; the other is so highly unlikely it is deemed impossible.
