A Supple Surprise begins in an low-income house in the Los Angeles suburbs belonging to a couple, Charlie and Claire. On the news, they see someone was murdered. Then two more people die. Witness to it all is children's book author Evangeline Lilly. Those related to the couple victims are called to gather together. This leads to a chain of events that reveals a tangle of past loves, past beef, and intrigue. A counselor rounds everyone up who's affected by the LA murder spree, which has no sign of stopping soon. The counselor plans to fix relationships among the group so they can take further action to stop the murders, but it all goes awry. From stories of scandal, finally one thing is clear: Charlie needs a vole. Rich mansion owner Ross Geller owes him one from an old poker match. Who knew his simple request would be the key to unlocking the mystery of the murders? Pieces of the puzzle are connected, an emotional climax is reached, and lovers bury their past problems (in one case, literally). Who will end up together? And who will be convicted?

The first of my mock-story gifts, Planet of the Moths takes place during a world apocalypse brought on suddenly by mysterious forces. At first it is a regular day--self-centered Ivy skips school again, walks around, whatever--until the first moth comes. Then another. At last the entire sky is filled with them, and they're hungry. Meanwhile, in another dimension, two royal twins hear a damsel's distress call and set out to save the dame--not knowing they would stumble into Ivy's moth-ravaged plane of existence. In the end, the fate of the world lies in the hands of a motley crew--Ivy, a leopard named Baby, the princely twins, and one handsome giant rat. Can they stop the apocalypse? Or will they all be swallowed into the oblivion of a million furry brown wings?
