Jesse Bradford is the only outwardly gay student in the homophobic town of Tarwater, TX. Mike Walker is the school's All-State linebacker with high expectations. Folks in Tarwater know he'll go to college and then the NFL. But keeping his urges closeted is killing Mike. One day he loses it and attacks Jesse, changing the paths of both their lives forever.
