"Aubrey." Nathan's voice is quiet almost hesitant, unusual compared to his laid back stoner attitude. "hmm?" I hum glancing at him, it was starting to get late, the grass tickling my bare legs. "why are you here?" I bit my lip, his figure a silhouette now. I was afraid to let my self think about the reason, let alone tell him. why was I here with the schools stoner boy, me the star student, I am the last person who should even be considered, let alone actually seek him out. maybe it was to show the world I was more than a perfect student, or maybe it was because I truly liked this boy, I just wouldn't let myself think about it let alone speak it so instead I shrugged. "Dunne." A golden shaded leaf falls from the tree we're sitting under and I gently catch it examining it closely. Nathans's fingers brush mine and he grabs my hand intertwining them quickly as if I might pull away in disgust. and I might have, when I first met him yet I find myself squeezing his hand lightly letting the warmth from his palm sink into my skin and he responds back. "So you just decided to track me down with no reason other than you wanted to.. and your letting me.." He trails off and lifts our entangled fingers up before letting them rest on the cool grass once more. Once more I shrug, this time no response. It's quiet for a few moments as we sit there, watching the sun turn a dark shade of red. "I have a question." he decides suddenly. "Go ahead." "Can I kiss you?" I look up at him and even in the dark I can imagine his hopeful look, a small hint of a smile on his lips and his eyes a bit wide as if wanting to see every second of what's about to happen. I lean over laying my head on his shoulder, spinning the golden leaf in my free hand. He lightly kisses my forehead before clearing his throat waiting for an answer. "maybe when you don't smell like Mary Jane." I respond

Olivia's best friend is not imaginary. He’s not a ghost, either. And she's pretty sure he's not a hallucination. He’s just Mason. He is, however, invisible. When Olivia spotted the crying little boy on her front porch at five years old, she had no idea she was the only one who could see him. Twelve years later when new-girl Robin bumps into the both of them and introduces herself to Mason, they are both stunned. Mason couldn't be more pleased that someone else can see him. Olivia, on the other hand, isn't jumping at the chance to welcome Robin into their circle. Jealousy may have something to do with that, but honest fear that Robin's presence will put Mason in danger is soon validated when a strange black car begins showing up everywhere. The race to find out what Robin knows in time to protect Mason from whatever threats are coming becomes Olivia's only focus.
