In the summer of 1889, Rose Tallmadge is the new bride of Christian Turner, the town's tailor. Her new husband buys a new house for them that hasn't been lived in for at least a year. Rose is cautious about moving in because there will have to be a lot of renovations needed to make the house really livable again. Soon after Rose moves in, she meets a stranger in the house who warns her that she needs to get out before she gets hurt. After her husband's death, Edith gets back to Buffalo with Allan, but her life will never be the same. What secrets will be revealed? Will she stand living without Thomas or the past will haunt her forever?

The novel portrays a dashing young Baronet who lives in Northern-England with his sister. Ghosts are real, Jessamine knows this, her mother has always warned her of the supernatural. Learning the history of Crimson Peak she finds herself wanting to go the historic place herself. But if she does will she unlock her past and find out secrets, or will the ghosts that haunt the very halls know who she is and everything will change forever.
