The Entity Fate isn't known for much, but she *is* known for loving heroic stories. To create heroes you need potential devastation. You need villains, and corruption and death and despair in order to have the hero triumph over all that in the end. In other words, this is the tale of a family favored by Fate, cursed with the gift of an interesting life full of never-ending betrayals and occasional glimmers of hope. The story of ruination that followed each burdened member, crossing dimensions and spanning centuries. For, you see, a hero of Fate cannot truly die without finishing the story. ~~Alternate Summary, can't decide which to use~~ Entities with power over the multiverse tend to meddle, especially those invested in humanity. The Dunnar family is a direct testament to this fact. Each member "given patronage" by a self-proclaimed deity, a puppet for the power's whims. Except, the Dunnar family aren't just puppets to be used. They think. They hope. They want. They fear. ~~~ Otherwise known as that story I've been sitting on posting for years. Yes, I'm just a bit less of a coward when faced with a global pandemic. Updates on Tuesdays, probably. (And yes, I changed the date of the global crisis when our world was faced with a comparable one, since I don't want to jinx it and have this mess last for another five years thank you very much) Will update warnings when someone complains. Please complain if you want me to update warnings.

Li, Paj, Jason, and El wake up with amnesia and cryptic messages they left themselves. Apparently they are part of a social experiment. Apparently they have superpowers. Apparently they all agreed to do this experiment for the betterment of their greater community, whatever that means. But why does what they've written themselves seem to clash with the few memories they have? And who are the mysterious other participants in the experiment that none of them seem to see nor remember?

Demons have plagued the world for decades now. When they appeared they brought freak storms, new volcanos, strange fertile havens in otherwise uninhabitable places, and much more. But that's ancient history, especially to Ash Valley, WA. Demons may be a nuisance, but they aren't all bad. Maggie's house-mate Sam used to possess her brother Dill. Her cousin Sandler's mother died from a possession gone wrong. That's just the way the world works. Occasionally you have to dig out the torches and pitchforks to drive off an invading force that wants to destroy your town. Except, things don't like to stay quiet after a demon war. Especially in a Ash Valley, and especially for a family who have been monster-hunters since the start. A new demonic force has already popped up. One that may mean disaster, or at least according to Sam. One that may just show how... human... these Demons can be.

Technically, this is a chapter in my other book "My Teen Angst is a A. S. King Novel", but I wanted to submit it to a contest. This isn't exactly a love letter. We weren't exactly crushes. Someone tell me where the time machine is, so I can fix the events spawned from and in this letter. To Brinna. From Stavi.

Sevaa'ane- a literal cutthroat immigrant to the anarchy that used to be Manhattan. Firna- her roommate, a city-born rich girl turned apothecary and poisoner who is determined to figure out the other girl's secrets. Manhattan- The city that never sleeps is dead, buried under corpses and panic from the plague that swept through the world faster than any cure could combat. Food is easy to come by, because no one is alive to man the bodegas. The wail of an ambulance is silent, the drivers and medics were the first to die. Survivors are scarce, and scared. Welcome to the United States, please enjoy your quarantine period.

Eric lives with his demons. Literally. A few months ago, his retired-scientist uncle finally extracted the alien presence in his mind. Of course, Eriez -the creature extracted- is murderous and annoying and maybe in love with his sister, and the procedure has left Eric with huge memory gaps. And he's forced to room with the creature, in the flesh now. But it's just a manifestation of an alien presence, it isn't like it's a person or anything... ~ apologies for anyone who reads my other pieces and notices a theme running here.

Throughout her supernaturally long life, Rinne Evoryn has kept only one wish in her heart: to protect the friends and students she takes under her wing, to keep them safe. However, Rinne also has the misfortune of being disliked by a certain deity, one that will give her a way to fullfill her heart's desire but at a horrible price. Rinne isn't powerful enough to outright defy her new "patron", but can she find a way to avoid despair as she is stripped of her name, her face, her family, her security, and worst of all her true love? ~ Originally published Maukiyntz 2017 "Bia'asele Erieh-ahn Heramael", sect 18:14:309-ab, Raven of 21 . Note- warning for some darker themes. As with most of Afton, it's not all marshmallow fluff. . Apparently I'm starting the Aftonverse with Rinne. ::)
