"With every new beginning is an ending. Who said it had to be a good ending or that the new beginning was a good one?" New Beginnings is the Sequel to my first book Heatstroke (Jack Frost, Rise of the Guardians, Fan fiction) If you haven't read Book 1 (Heatstroke) I highly recommend that you do before reading this one. This Story takes place one a half years after the first story ended. After Pitch Black was beaten and then shown mercy by Romanna Soleroot, the new Mother Nature in charge of the planet Earth, all seems well among the Guardians. Bunny and Tooth are busy planning a lot of big things for their relationship. Romanna and Jack, well, they haven't been seen or heard from in a while since Jack had the idea to teach Romanna to fly by dropping her from sky... Yeah that was a really bad idea. Just when everything seemed to be at it's most perfect, everything changed. Romanna changed. She seemed angry and unhappy all the time and it wasn't because she's Australian. Whenever Jack tried to get close to his love, she would push him away as if he was poison. Something was wrong and Jack was the only one who noticed she was acting different. One of Romie's wounds from the battle with The King of Nightmares didn't properly heal and even though it causes her unbearable pain, she had managed to keep it hidden so no one would know and get worried. You may think the chess game is over and the White Queen (Romanna) knocked out the Black King (Pitch) to save the other chess pieces on the board (Jack, Tooth, Bunny, North, Sandy). But what the White King (The Man in the Moon) did to the Queen to ensure their victory isn't forgiveable and Pitch is planning to use Manny's failure to weaken Romanna. It's the Black King's turn to have a queen. Emily Jane gave Romie her Mother Nature powers and gave The Man in the Moon strict orders which he disobeyed and because of that he will pay. His queen he fought so hard to selfishly keep, he will lose in the game's rematch...

Mari Turner's life is simple after college: return to the tiny family farm and look after the animals while working at a local bookstore. She’s a firm believer of magic in books and legend, but it doesn’t exist in her reality until a walking, talking fairy tale calls her a Piper’s child, and spirits her away to his ice palace. In a fit of unbridled courage – or stupidity, she’s not sure – she makes Jack Frost a challenge his pride can’t refuse: be human, with everything that comes with it. The prize is Mari’s eternity – she’ll either spend it without interacting with him again or she’ll live forever in the pixie world by his side and give up all she’s ever known. With Jack as a flesh and blood mortal, she digs deeper into his legend to get a better understanding of the man frozen in time, and discovers the darker side to the stories that shaped her childhood. From the Pied Piper who stole children instead of banishing rats and the rest of the winter pixies – including Jack’s sister, and their centuries-old feud – to her dead father’s legacy and her evolving relationship with Jack himself, Mari finds human life is much more interconnected with the pixie world than it once looked. But at the end of the winter there can only be one winner, and everything Mari knows and holds dear hinges on Jack Frost’s ability to be human – including understanding his own thawing heart.
