Ignotum

At the beginning we thought it was nothing, but it of all things was indeed something. The symptoms slowly surfaced like blood in a fresh cut. "Modern-day virus", they said, "Bullshit", I say. We learned quickly that it was no cliché post-apocalyptic movie scenario that I had been fascinated by at such a young age. This virus was different; intelligent. Not in the sense of mutating to avoid being wiped out by man-made vaccines and cures, but knowing how to accurately prey on our utmost human instinct - the need to survive. No walking dead zombies or mutated monsters, just the fear and anxiety that devoured us from the inside out until the pain was unbearable.
