Lunch went by pretty quickly, and we were back to classes soon enough. I'd forgotten to get a book from my locker, so I quickly went to get it. I was leaning on the locker next to mine as I quickly scanned my schedule on my locker door, when warm air fanned the side of my face. "Move." Being the excellent human being I am, I jumped out of fright, flinging the heavy calculus textbook in my hand backwards. I heard a grunt and turned to find the person behind me now hunched over as they held onto a part of their face. "Oh God! I'm so sorry!" I panicked. And then he looked up. The first thing I noticed was his short, dark hair. It looked so smooth, and I almost reached out to play with it. My eyes trailed down to his strong jaw line, down to his broad shoulders. I didn't even realize that I was biting my lip as I further inspected the Adonis before me. His arm flexed, bringing my attention to the amber eye he was now covering. It was him. Six. The most popular and dangerous guy in school. And I'd managed to injure him with my calculus textbook. I'm dead. *********** #11 Teen Fiction - 31 December 2015 #15 Teen Fiction - 16 December 2015 #16 Teen Fiction - 16 December 2015

He slowly turned to me with the meanest look I've ever seen on his beautiful face. His long legs allowed him to take three short steps towards me until we were face to face. He leaned down to reach my height and then pushed me against the wall. "I don't do relationships," he said very coldly. My heart dropped but my pride fell before my heart could reach my stomach. He resumed packing my bag. "Why not?" I asked with an attitude to appear unbothered but I really am. "Because, they're-" his sentence was cut off by gunshots. "Fuck!" He yelled then grabbed me and threw me on the floor behind the bed. _________________________ Life was never easy for Grace whether it was growing up in her country or moving to New York for a better life. At this particular moment in time there are four things I am absolutely, positively, without a doubt sure of: 1. The meat industry's rampant abuse of animals and environmental devastation was abhorrent. 2. I suck at Biology. Like, genuinely suck. 3. There was no possible way I was not going to fall in love with Alex Cardoso 4. Like all great love stories (well, all the good ones anyway) it will not not end well. Like, the "go up in flames" not end well. (Cover by: leslymm)
