Tristan Babineaux is a guy who has no perseverance for persistence. He has a depressing past that he shoulders wherever he goes. Despite this, Cilan, Chili, and Cress, three brothers who own the Striaton City Pokémon Gym, Bar, and Restaurant, are fervent on getting Tristan off his track of anguish. Unfortunately for Tristan, they have monetary leverage to do so. In an effort to also reform their indebted patron's outlook, the three brothers urge Tristan into helping them help others. As things fall into place, Tristan is now in the heart of the life puzzles of others while trying piece together the solution to his own.
