Have you ever heard the phrase a picture is worth a thousand words? This book is for the bored and curious. This is just a book I have on here for something extra for me to do. What makes a monster? It's fangs? How about the sharp claws? Or maybe it's monstrous appearance in general? If a monster is so frightening, then the people who handle them must be just as monstrous. Monsters are a common thing to see in the city that use to be New York. But instead of bustling cabs and crowded streets there is fences separating counties and people are rarely seen, and right in the center of town is where the monsters fight and the crowds go wild watching them. But when a monster retires and can't fight anymore they are killed. They aren't pets. All they're good for is money and fighting. These creatures come in all shapes and sizes, but does their appearances and fierce personalities make them monsters? This is a question Fantasia often asks herself. Fantasia has grown up with these monsters her whole life, and never has she once feared them. Must run in the family. Her father studies the creatures and her brother is a star handler. Fantasia would love to be a handler too. There's just one problem. Girls aren't allowed to be handlers. This fact didn't stop Fantasia and her brother disguising her as a guy though, and it certainly didn't stop her from trying to prove to everyone that a monster can be something other than a fighter. It can be apart of a fancy show, a race against all odds, and above all a companion. With the help of her brother and newfound friends she has found working in the arena, Fantasia sets out to prove that monsters don't have to be something to be afraid of.
