As Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi battle to the death in the fiery mines of Mustafar, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine (also Darth Sidious) is trying in vain to defeat the great Jedi Master Yoda. Both Skywalker and Palpatine have met their match. Yoda barely escapes the Chancellor alive, but Obi-Wan Kenobi has out smarted his old padawan. In realizing his actions Anakin surrenders, taking full responsibility for the murders he comitted. In order to avenge those he killed he sets off to kill his current mentor, Darth Sidious, alone. Obi-Wan returns to Padmè's aid, now joined by Yoda. Senator Padmè Amidala, unaware of Anakin's sudden change of heart, loses her will to live after giving birth to Anakin's children Luke and Leia. Yoda and Obi-Wan are now o the challenge of breaking the news of his wife's death to Anakin and reestablishing the Jedi Order. But the darkness in young Skywalker lingers. How can he bring peace to the force if he can't even bring peace to his own heart?

It bubbled and hissed. She almost wished it would burn a hole right through her heart. Then maybe, just maybe, she wouldn’t have to put up with it anymore. She wouldn’t cry.
