After Parent's Day, there was still half a summer to go. Most everyone had been back in a good mood after getting to see their parents again, but Max was still his own self. David thought about this a lot. Then again, so did Gwen. It kept both of them awake for all hours of the night to think that one of their campers had a family that couldn't even bother to sign their son up for an activity, or to show up for Parent's Day. The camp got happier, Max didn't. As he got worse, the others became happier, and the counselors more worried.

Max's home isn't exactly perfect. An abusive father. An insane mother. Nothing can save him it seems Until David gets a phone call in the middle of the night, alerting him of a terrible problem... WARNING// Dark

Set after the events of Parent's Day, things haven't exactly gone back to normal how everyone thought they would. The camp gets a few upgrades and much needed repairs, but most of all there's a certain ten year old who's become clingy towards two counselors. *WARNING* The following contains graphic depictions of violence, sexual assault, self harm, racism, etc. Those who do not wish to be subjected to these things then please leave. David had been worried about max for a while, after the parents day incident he came to realize that max's parents really didn't care. Max is abused. he feels helpless around his family, and David can't stand to see him hurt.

As David grows more and more homesick about the camp, Max goes through some life problems that lead to event that will change both of their lives forever.

Max has lived a hard life, and can't take any more abuse, so when camp is close to its end, David got rather suspicious that something might be going on with max. Max refuses to tell David, and in doing so goes back with his abusive family. Max then decides to leave his family after a painful beating he had received. He then runs away to find David.
