What happens when you finally realize that the one you think you'll love for the rest of the life, was just right by your side? Specifically taming dragons and sharpening our tools? I never thought I'd look at Hiccup this way. It's unexpected, I guess.

I knew he didn't know what he was doing. He was confused, sad. I knew he didn't want to let go of me, and I didn't either. But he did anyways. Seeing him everyday is just another wave of pain in my heart, knowing that I can't tall to him again, or touch him. Or even look at him, but I do when he isn't looking. It just leaves me broken. How lucky I was to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

As a baby hiccup was taken away from Berk for 20 years. No one apart from Stoick and Valka know he's missing or possibly dead or so they think. But when Astrid goes for a walk into the woods after a frustrating day maybe just maybe there is a glimmer of hope. But Berk has been receiving mutable attacks from the outcast, who are trying to find Stoick's weakness and take over Berk. When Alvin the leader of the outcast discovers Astrid's little secret maybe they have found something worth everything to Stoick and that may get them their victory. It's been days after the battle of the Red Death. Days since Dragons and Viking united and days since, the young boy, Hiccup was gravely injured defeating the Red Death. He's recovering well. His life is okay for now. Has a good relationship with Astrid and the other teens. But everything changes when he discovered something secret about his life.

It's been a month since Dragons and Vikings were brought together, now the only thing left to do is train them. Its close to winter in Berk, putting everyone on edge for food. Hiccup, the chiefs son, also the one that brought dragons and Vikings together isn't worried about the snow at all. He's usually the one to take advantage of the snowy weather, going dragon sledding with Astrid and the gang. But when Hiccup, mysteriously falls ill with an unknown sickness, Stoik's worries for his survival in the cold grow. In hopes to cure his only son Stoik sets out to sea to find the right medicine leaving Hiccup in the constant care of Gobber and Astrid. When tragic strikes, and Hiccup is now left on his own, his chances of surviving become small.

Book two of Awkward. I highly recommend you read that before this story. There will be HTTYD 2 spoilers. Astrid found scales of a Night Fury and thinks it her fault that Hiccup is dead. Four years later the teens from Berk go fishing and end up finding the Night Fury and a old friend.
