Harry Potter, jenž dosáhl už třiceti let, byl bohužel otráven na svém pracovišti a nebýt svého kolegy a zároveň dlouholetého kamaráda Rona Weasleyho, nedostalo by se mu pomoci. Celý příběh začíná ve chvíli, kdy je převezen do nemocnice U Svatého Munga pro kouzelnické choroby a úrazy, kde se setká s lékouzelníkem, Dracem Malfoyem, bývalým zmijozelským princem a jejich vztah se po spoustě letech začne pomalu, ale jistě budovat. Kam až se vše vyvine?

Prakticky ihned začal Lucius jednat, aby jeho syna nalezli, ale čím déle pátrání trvalo, tím více mu bylo jasné, že je to celé beznadějné. Po dvou letech to nakonec manželé vzdali a jejich syn byl prohlášen za mrtvého. Nikdo tento případ už nikdy nechtěl řešit a vzhledem k válce ani na řešení nezbyl čas. Až když jí byl konec, se vše změnilo. Sám opěvovaný hrdina Harry Potter si doslova vyhádal povolení tento případ znovu otevřít a veřejnost ubezpečit, že Draca Luciuse Malfoye najde a vrátí tam, kam patří.
