The end of mankind has finally come, in the least spectacular way. When pen-pals Neri, a Canadian, and Eleni, an American, finally meet each other in the flesh for the first time, they believe it's the happiest day of their lives. That is, until planes fall from the sky, a virus spreads like wildfire, and mushroom clouds of flame fill the sky. Why? Because of one thing the media never released: the DED virus. Similar to other zombie-like infections, DED does three things: infect, reawaken, and devour the living. After learning of possibly the only safe place on the continent, Florida and all other states and countries become overridden by the Restless and insignificant to survivors. Eleni and Neri are going to embark on a daring trek all the way from Florida back to the Canadian border, where the remainder of the survivors have relocated. Link: a rogue troublemaker who steals from village people, flirts with all the women, and tortures the people of Hyrule. Living life the way he wants it, no rules, and not a care in the world. Zelda: a woman who gets tangled with the wrong people and doesn’t know that she was kidnapped as a child and is really the true ruler of Hyrule. She has a split personality where she thinks she’s Sheik, a worrier who fights for good. Ganondorf: the ruler of Hyrule who killed the king for his throne. He knows about Zelda being the real ruler but has kept that a secret this entire time. He also knows that Link is suppose to be the hero of time but doesn’t seem threatened by a rogue troublemaker. This story takes on a whole new twist of the Legend that I created. I do not own any characters, settings, or history in this story. This is just purely a fun fan fiction of the best video game ever. I woke up in a lab. I don't know anything about myself and I'm not sure that I want to. I don't even know my own name, or what I'm doing here. There are other children here, too, some younger than me and some that are older; but none of them are...normal. We are all different in some way. I'm the only one that can talk and I probably will be the oldest as well. They usually live for a week at the most. We're usually caged, and we only leave the dark room when they want to experiment on us. Or kill us. The evil people call me their Ultimate Specimen that could change the world... But I'm just a girl who doesn't have an inkling of anything before this torture. The men and women here call me dangerous, harmless, a secret, a solution. I don't know what any of it means, but they continue their work and experiments on me. Why am I so fascinating? Why am I here? The three Sisters of Fate are known throughout Hyrule for their actions, working behind the scenes as rogues. It is impossible to say whose side they're on. One day, when Ganondorf grows tired of waiting for Hyrule to become his, he hires the Sisters of Fate to assist him. While he sets off to conquer the Gorons, Luck is sent to infiltrate the Kokiri, Hope is sent to trap the Zoras, and Karma is sent to assassinate the Sheikah. As Karma begins to learn a new way of life as a Sheikahn, she starts to wonder if she can really kill the people who have finally accepted her after a lifetime of running and rejection.

The surface was supposed to be safe again with Demise defeated, however, its anything but. In the shadows of the uninhabited land lurk rebel Sheikah, who call themselves the Dark Interlopers, who plot against Hylia's human reincarnation, Zelda, and her loyal hero, Link, in secret, building up power to take them both down. Around the same time, Link and Zelda come across a land parallel to the surface, a strange country called Termina, protected by the goddess Terminus. Terminus begs them to help her subdue the mighty Fierce Deity, who was once the goddess's hero before he was corrupted by the demon Majora. Link fights the Deity and defeats him, but he is wounded in the battle and filled with the demon's corruption himself. As he and Zelda return to their own land, the hero slowly starts losing himself mentally and physically, ultimately putting Zelda's life in danger as he tries to fight against something he cannot control. To make matters worse, the Dark Interlopers soon launch a massive attack against the two of them, capturing Zelda and leaving Link for dead. He is found and saved by the mysterious Sheik, the leader of the Sheikah who are still loyal to Hylia. With both the surface and the sky in great danger, the hero must fight to save them and the goddess once more, all while fighting the corruption that he is falling ever deeper into. However, a strange symbol has appeared on the back of her hand, a Triforce piece different than Link's or any other. With it comes powers and secrets she never thought she had and must learn to control; while her new abilities bring many dangers to herself and gambles that risk more than just her life. When she learns the most startling fact about herself, Neri knows that she'll have to fight for more lives than just her own. With Link's help and a few friends, Neri starts her quest to return to her world. Despite the adrenaline and hopelessness, another feeling grows under her skin: A certain warmness which is all aimed at Link. Above all, one question remains: Using these new powers and abilities, will Neri be able to survive long enough to get home?

What if you suddenly woke up in a place you never knew? How about if you were placed on death row?
