With some help, you find yourself in the US Army to take your father's place on the battlefield, wanting to prove your strength and hoping to help put an end to the war. You're assigned to the 1st Infantry Division, 16th Regiment Infantry. You expect to not be accepted, but you eventually grow a close bond with your squad as you all make your way through Europe. You think of the Army as a place where you shouldn't fall in love, but there's one soldier in your squad who changes that. Note that this story is a bit lame, I wrote this years ago. But if you're okay with really cheesy stuff, then you should get a laugh from this one. :) I feel like descriptions kinda give the story away because it sort of gives you a sense of what is going to happen. But you'll have to read to figure out what happens in this story. (: The story takes place in the late 1980s (1987 to be exact) so yeah.

TL;DR- Rain falls head over heels for you. Long slow burn, fluff, and incredible angst ensues. Eventual happy ending included. Love was not something you or Rain ever understood, whether it be between mother and father, between friends and peers, or between you and the universe. After being shunned by your church for reasons you were not the blame for, a church of the antichrist extended their kindness to help a lost soul. Rain was in the same bin as you, and having to heal from the trauma and abuse you had both suffered in your lives was not a one-day process. But with your new found friends, Papa Emeritus III as your best friend and mentor, the ghouls accepting you in their lives, your new job in the clergy, and a quickly developing romantic relationship with the shy bassist, your lives become a lot more happy than they ever were before.

It's cheesy and lame, you've been warned. So basically this is what my other TF story "Why Me?" Should have been. Instead of the 80s this takes place in the late 90s. I took my time with this story and actually had a sense of where it was going. Enjoy!
